Casino is being and integral part of hotel industry from its very beginning. El Rancho Vegas is the first hotel ever built on the strip in Las Vegas and it too featured a large casino. El Rancho Vegas was opened on April 3 in the year 1941 at 2500 Las Vegas Boulevard. Though it was the first hotel ever built on the strip in Las Vegas , El Rancho used to offer world-class accommodation, dining and casino facilities to its guests.
Being the first hotel ever built on the strip in Las Vegas , El rancho earned huge popularity within a few days of it servicing. It was also popular for the Chuck Wagon buffet which was later copied by many hotels in the city. Wide variety of cuisines were available in the restaurant in El Rancho. Besides, the hotel used to earn a lot from its casino operations. Though the first hotel ever built on the strip in Las Vegas , El Rancho had 70 slot machines and two blackjack tables, roulette wheel, craps tables. For almost twenty years, the casino room in El Rancho was one of the most crowded spots in the city. Unfortunately everything suddenly came to an end when El rancho was completely destroyed by fire in the year 1960. However, to keep alive the magic of the first hotel ever built on the strip in Las Vegas , Thunderbird Hotel was rebranded as El rancho in the year 1982, but it failed in its attempt and on the contrary created some confusion.
